Although it may be colder, it is still iced coffee season. We decided to test all Dunkin K Cups iced coffee swirl flavors and rank them, from traditional mocha to seasonal pumpkin. We rated the coffee not only on its overall flavor, but also whether it tasted exactly like what it claimed to be.

There are two ways to flavor coffee at Dunkin’s: a shot or a swirl. The company states that the flavor shots can be sweetened without sugar and are not sugary. However, the swirl flavors can be creamier and made with sweetened condensed dairy and other flavors to create the desired variety.

French Vanilla

It tastes more like fake vanilla — hey, oh! Although the vanilla flavors were a little weak, most testers found this drink to be artificial and fake-y. French vanilla iced espresso loses points not only for its thickness but also because it is super boring.

Hazelnut

Although we don’t know the exact taste of this drink, it was definitely not hazelnut. The overpowering flavor was described by all but one taster as something else, ranging from “a buttered popcorn jelly beans” to “perfume.” One taster said, “I’m scared by that one.”There you have it! There are many Dunkin’ flavors available, from those that enhance the coffee flavor to those that completely mask it. Pumpkin

We were shocked by this one. It’s easy to think that you know what pumpkin coffee tastes like. We only tasted cinnamon after one sip. It was like a lot of cinnamon. We wondered if the flavors had been mixed, but Dunkin’ does not currently offer a cinnamon-only option. If you prefer warm spices in your iced coffee then the pumpkin is the best choice.

Toasted White Chocolate

This one was not fantastic, but it was good. The toasty flavor was evident in a kind of nutty taste, which we liked, but were disappointed by the low white chocolate potency. It’s certainly more subtle.

Caramel

This coffee has a rich, rich flavor that is spot-on. This coffee does contain a lot more sweetness than the average coffee. If you prefer your coffee to taste just like coffee, this is not the one for you. Caramel is the best choice if you don’t mind a coffee that tastes more like dessert.

Mocha

Another classic — and for good reason — was this intense chocolate flavor. One taster commented that it was hot chocolate with coffee. It sounds exactly as a mocha should. It’s almost like a beer-stout coffee. You won’t find any sweetness in it, but you will taste bitter notes.

Caramel Mocha

What happens when you combine these two standards? Iced coffee with a delicious flavor. Although they said that the flavor was more chocolatey than caramel, our tasters found the overall effect to be very pleasant. The caramel is sweeter than the mocha flavor, but the flavors are well balanced. For a large iced java, order two shots. We believe this is the best size.
